Versace is a luxury fashion brand found in 1978 by Gianni Versace. The House of Versace is considered one of the leading global fashion design company. The brand has product lines which include clothing, accessories, perfumes, cosmetics, and a collection of housewares.

Gianni Versace started working in fashion at a young age. After several internships he moved to Milan and at 26 he landed his first real professional design job. He began working at Complice designing their leather goods collection. Through contacts he made he was able to fund his first collection of womenswear.

The Versace brand consist of several individual product lines. They are Atelier Versace, Versace Couture, Versace Sports, Versace Jeans Couture, Versace Home Collection, Versace Collection, and Versus. Versace Jeans Couture is a casual line of clothing and luxury jeans which also makes use of the classic Versace patterns. This line is seen as the company’s most affordable collection of clothes. Versace Sport includes activewear and accessories. Versace Couture is brands top of line products. usually luxury, detailed and handmade clothing, watches, fragrances, shoes, bags, and jewellery. Versace Couture is the line which represents the company during fashion’s week catwalk presentations. The line has dresses and suits which range in price from $5,000 to $10,000. The various lines of products all share the Versace asethics and style. Sharp, bold and often colorful prints and styles are trademark for the label.

The company has over 82 branded boutiques all around the world. These stores are owned and operated by Versace Inc. Additionally they are featured in over 124 luxury department stores including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman andSaks Fifth Avenue.

Versace is different then most fashion houses since they frequently  work with celebrities for the House’s advertisements. The agreement provides for the use of the celebrity’s image and the celebrity is paid both a fee and with Versace clothing. Madonna was paid $10.5m and given Versace clothes for 2 years. The popstar Lady Gaga is a fan of Versace, especially vintage Versace.

Gianni Versace collaborate with Frank Muller to produce the first collection of watches. The first line was called Atelier and was a huge success. The collection is now licensed to the Times Group under the direction of Versace. The Versace brand has been adapted for a phone produced by LG: The luxury, touch screen mobile can cost as much as $16,000 and are handmade and mirrors the Versace style, bold colors, attention to details and quality craftsmanship. Some of the models come trimmed in steel or solid gold.
