The store’s founder, John W. Nordstrom left his home country of Sweden aged 16, and set off for the lights of New York with only 5 dollars to his name. Distracted on route by the lure of the Alaskan gold mines, there he earned enough to invest in his first independent business venture. Setting up a shoe-store named ‘Wallis & Nordstrom’ in downtown Seattle 1901, he dedicated his business to exceptional service, selection, quality and value. Quickly drawing a devoted customer base, it’s no surprise that a second store quickly followed… then by a third, and a fourth.

Today Nordstrom has 231 stores all over the United States, and is available world-wide through their beloved online store. A fashion legacy, Nordstrom is renowned for retailing the finest apparel, shoes and accessories for every member of the family. Nordstrom is only available to us Aussies via the online store – which is beautiful, and so easy to use. The only downside is that shipping across the ocean tends to be costly, which combined with the luxury items can make your shopping basket slightly on the pricey side.
