G-Star Raw, or more commonly known as G-Star, is a Dutch designer label that specialises in high quality urban fashion. Once upon a time the label was called Gap Star, but they changed their name before the international launch due to the enormity of a similarly named lifestyle brand! The RAW comes from their special denim – it’s unwashed and untreated, a more natural product. Their trademark design of the number “96″ comes from the year they first launched their Raw Denim jeans, just seven years after the brand’s original launch.

They claim to produce “luxury denim for the streets”, “by fusing high-level craftmanship with street level edge to create a new denim sector; the positioning of raw, untreated denim as a wearable and desirable material; and the evolution of our distinctive denim silhouette, through the adoption of architectural and 3-D thinking into denim construction”.

These days G-Star produces a full wardrobe range of pieces designed to compliment and”frame” the denim that will always remain at the heart of the brand. G star shoes, t shirts, jacket, hoodies, dresses and more have now all become recognised products of the brand, and help the GStar RAW fan to complete their look!
