Bonds, Bonds Industries Pty Ltd, is the producer and importer of underwear, clothing and accessory fashion for men, women, children and babies. The brand is Australia’s leading seller of mid-price clothing.

Bonds History
The company was formed in 1915 by Mr George Allan Bond. Bond was an American who came to Australia. He started bringing in women’s hosiery and gloves from the US, then later in 1917 he started producing hosiery in Australia. Over the next few years Bond ramped up operations and began expanding the items in his different lines. Underwear and shirts were added to the inventory, which was followed by socks and t-shirts for both sexes.

In 1932, Bond constructed Australia’s first cotton spinning mill in Sydney. Later Bonds became known as the biggest hosiery manufacturer/seller in the British Empire. It was in 1928 that one of BONDS’ highlights came about, and Charles Kingsford-Smith and Charles Um wore the company’s sports and underwear on their historic flight across the Pacific.
